Power Systems Field Technician

Our construction equipment group is seeking a full-time Power Systems Field Technicianto report out of our South Elgin IL branch. This is a union position and will be part of Local expected hourly pay for this role ranges between $41.57-$63.95based on candidate primary responsibilities of the position consist of but are not limited to:Apply technical experience to effectively inspect diagnose troubleshoot and repair Power Systems equipmentComplete service reports PM checklists and timecards in alignment with departmental standards. Leverage your previous experience to perform service tasks efficiently and accurately. Exhibit a strong dedication to customer satisfaction by clearly and consistently communicating job updates to both clients and internal team for the inventory of onboard partsPerform comprehensive visual inspections and testing on engine and generator sets identifying and documenting any deficiencies during preventive maintenance. Upkeep of the service truckIncorporate Altas Guiding Principles into daily activitiesPerforms other duties as assignedConsistent regular and reliable attendance including being ready for work at the designated start timeAvailability for after-hours calls as well as overnight and Qualifications:Previous experience with CAT Cummins and Volvo Engines is required. Minimum of three years of previous experience in electric power generator maintenance and repairExcellent mechanical aptitude with a solid understanding of the following systems: engine power train hydraulics and electricalPossess own toolsA positive attitude and high energyComputer programs - Basic proficiency in MS Office (Word Excel and Outlook) Skills - Intermediate: Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of the Skills - Basic: Ability to add and subtract two-digit numbers and to multiply and divide with 10s and 100s. Ability to perform these operations using units of American money and weight measurement volume and Ability - Intermediate: Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written oral or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized a valid drivers license with a clean driving record to be considered for this Demands/Work Environment:Physical/Sensory Functions: Regularly will stand walk use hands reach with hands; Frequently will talk/hear climb or balance stoop kneel crouch or crawl; Occasionally will and/or Move Functions: Regularly will lift up to 25 pounds; Frequently will lift 26 to 50 pounds; Occasionally will lift from 51 to 100 plus Environment: Regularly will work near moving mechanical parts; Frequently will be exposed to fumes or airborne particles outdoor weather conditions under extreme heat or cold; Occasionally will work in wet or humid conditions (non-weather) risk of electrical shock vibration.
