The Opportunity (Job description):

The Computational Catalysis Group led by Prof. Shyam Kattel at the University of Central Florida has an immediate opening for a postdoctoral researcher position. An ideal candidate should have experience in modeling electrochemical reactions on surfaces and interfaces using first-principles density functional theory (DFT) grand canonical DFT (GC-DFT) calculations microkinetic modeling and machine learning methods and in developing machine learning interatomic potentials (MLIPs).

Minimum Qualifications:

• Ph. D. in Physics Materials Science Chemistry Chemical Engineering or related field is required.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Strong background and interest in theoretical heterogeneous catalysis.
• Expertise with DFT GC-DFT and machine learning methods.
• Strong oral and written communication skills.
• Strong interpersonal and mentorship skills and ability to interact with a diverse team.
