Posting Description
POSTDOCTORAL ASSOCIATEEarth Atmospheric & Planetary Sciences to work at the intersection of physical oceanography numerical modeling high-performance computing and machine learning. The successful applicant will work with Assistant Professor Abigail Bodner leveraging results from a state-of-the-art large-eddy simulation based onthat resolves scales ranging from tens of kilometers down to meter scales. The project will involve analyzing the simulation output to address fundamental questions about the processes governing ocean mixed-layer dynamics and their parameterizations.

Job Requirements

REQUIRED: PhD in geosciences statistics physics engineering or a related field at the time of the appointment; PREFERRED: Strong background in fluid dynamics turbulence and/or oceanography; or experience working with numerical simulations large data scientific programming and/or machine learning.
