SMT Process Engineer

We are seeking an experienced SMT Process Engineer to join a growing electronics manufacturing organization. This is a hands-on engineering role focused on process development troubleshooting yield improvement automation and continuous improvement within a PCB assembly environment.

Requirements

8-10 years of SMT Process Engineering experience
Must come directly from an electronics manufacturing or PCB manufacturing company (no exceptions)
Strong SMT and PCB assembly experience
Experience with SMT placement reflow soldering process profiling troubleshooting line optimization and yield improvement
Strong understanding of manufacturing process controls and continuous improvement methodologies
Proven ability to drive operational efficiency and process improvements
Bachelors Degree in Mechanical Electrical Industrial Manufacturing Engineering or a related technical field

Responsibilities

Lead SMT process development implementation and optimization initiatives
Improve manufacturing yields throughput quality and overall production efficiency
Troubleshoot complex process-related issues and implement corrective actions
Support new product introductions (NPI) and production readiness activities
Develop and maintain process documentation work instructions and manufacturing standards
Analyze process performance data and identify opportunities for improvement
Support equipment validation qualification and automation initiatives
Conduct root cause analysis and drive corrective and preventive actions
Collaborate with Engineering Production Quality and Maintenance teams to improve manufacturing performance
Mentor junior engineers and technicians while providing technical leadership on key projects

Preferred Qualifications

Experience in high-mix electronics manufacturing environments
Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing Six Sigma and structured problem-solving methodologies
Experience with automated inspection technologies and advanced SMT manufacturing processes
Strong project leadership and cross-functional communication skills
Track record of implementing measurable process improvements and operational efficiencies
