North Jersey Friendship House is Urgently Hiring a porter (janitorial position) to work in Cedar Knolls NJ. Ideal candidates must be friendly be a self-starter able to take direction well.

The Porter will be responsible for cleaning areas of the building to ensure a clean and safe environment.

Shift:

• Monday through Friday - 4 Day Hours (7:30 am - 11:30 am)

Essential Functions Include:

• Clean building floors by sweeping mopping scrubbing or vacuuming them.
• Gather and empty trash.
• Service clean and supply restrooms.
• Clean and polish furniture and fixtures.
• Clean windows glass partitions and mirrors using specific cleaners sponges and squeegees.
• Dust furniture walls machines and equipment.
• Mix water and detergents in containers to prepare cleaning solutions according to specifications.
• Follow procedures for the use of chemical cleaners and power equipment in order to prevent damage to floors and fixtures.
• Any other duties deemed necessary for the cleanliness of the building.

Requirements:

• Minimum: 1-year previous janitorial experience preferred.
• Ability to handle multiple projects.
• MUST have reliable transportation to and from the work site.
