Job Summary
- The Menifee Police Department is pleased to formally announce its Lieutenant promotional recruitment. Qualified candidates will be required to undergo a multi-faceted process prior to filling this integral position within our organization.

- EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCEAny combination of training and experience that would provide the required knowledge skills and abilities is qualifying. A typical way to obtain the required qualifications would be:
- A Bachelors degree from an accredited college or university with major course work in criminal justice police science business administration public administration or a related field.
- Six (6) years (full-time equivalent) of increasingly responsible law enforcement experience as a sworn peace officer including two years at a supervisory level.
LICENSES AND CERTIFICATIONS- Possession and maintenance of a valid California POST Basic Certificate.
- Possession of a valid California POST Advanced Certificate.
- Possession of a California POST Supervisory Certificate is desirable.
- Possession of or ability to obtain and maintain a valid California Drivers License by time of appointment.
ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS- Must currently be employed as a Menifee Peace Officer in good standing and must have successfully completed probation by time of submittal of application.
- Must be at least 21 years of age.
- Must possess U.S. Citizenship at time of appointment.
- SELECTION PROCEDUREApplicants possessing the required qualifications will be invited to participate in the examination process. All qualified applicants will be assessed on job-relevant qualifications including possession of the knowledge skills and abilities necessary for the Lieutenant position; ability to perform essential job functions; and related education training and experience.
Upon completion of all examination components candidates will be notified and placed into one of the following bands based on their overall score:- Highly Qualified (90.0% and above)
- Well Qualified (80.0% to 89.9%)
- Qualified (70.0% to 79.9%)
- Not Qualified (69.9% and below)
EXAMINATION COMPONENTS AND DATES- Appraisal Interviews and written portion to take place on Thursday Sept. 10th
- Written portion: write a press release based on given scenario
- 360 Evaluation (advisory only)
