Police Lieutenant

Division: Within the Safety Department at ELMHS Located in Jackson LA
The Mission of ELMHS is to provide mental health evaluation treatment habilitation and consultation for adults. Programs include inpatient interventions jail-based evaluations supervised group home and residential programs forensic evaluation care custody and aftercare; intermediate and long-term psychiatric services are coordinated with the total system of care in Louisiana

ELMHS is looking for a motivated detail-oriented and positive individual to join our team as a Police Lieutenant!The selected candidate will enforce laws investigate security incidents implement modern policing practices manage administrative operations and provide leadership and supervision to police staff at ELMHS.

Four years of law enforcement experience.

EXPERIENCE SUBSTITUTION:
Every 30 semester hours earned from an accredited college or university will substitute for one year of the required experience. The maximum substitution allowed is 60 semester hours which substitutes for two years of experience.

NECESSARY SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS:
Applicants must be at least 18 years of age.

Possession of a current Louisiana drivers license.

Possession of an active Peace Officer Standards and Training (POST) certification may be required.

An applicant who has been convicted of a felony or who is under indictment on a felony charge will be disqualified until relief from the disabilities imposed by state and federal laws is granted.

Job Duties:

In this role you will:

• Enforce Laws and investigate accidents unauthorized entries property destruction and suspected narcotics infiltration

• Establish and apply modern law enforcement concepts and systems.

• Perform Administrative tasks

• Provide leadership guidance and supervision to the police staff at ELMHS
