Police Cadet

THE POSITION

The San Bruno Police Department is actively accepting applications forthe San Bruno Police Cadet Program (Post #559).

TheCadetProgram offers an opportunity for students between the ages of 14and 20 years old to become involved in a rewarding and productivepublic safety and community service activity and prepares youth forfuture roles as good citizens and contributing community members.

The City of San Bruno strives to prepare people interested in law enforcementprofessions in attaining their future career goals. Noexperience is necessary to become anCadet aside from the desireand willingness to learn about a career in law enforcement.

Cadets will attend aCadetAcademy where students learnnumerous law enforcement techniques such as fingerprintinginvestigations search and rescue and first aid.Cadetapplicantsmust also be enrolled in high school or college be between ages 14 to 20 maintain a 2.0 GradePoint Average be willing and able to volunteer time to the policedepartment on a monthly basis obtain parental consent if under the ageof 18 be free of criminal convictions and pass a basic backgroundinvestigation.
