- Period of Performance: 01 September 2026 to 31 August 2030.
- Total Compensation: $115.00 per hour.
- Employment Type: Independent Contractor (1099).
Working Hours
The Podiatrist will work Monday through Friday between 8:00 am and 5:00 pm excluding Federal and State holidays. Hours may include minor adjustments and callback services. The Podiatrist shall respond to all service calls within four (4) hours of HHS Agency request unless the Response Deadline is extended by the HHS Agency Contract Manager.
Qualifications
- Be a graduate of an accredited school of optometry with a Doctor of Optometry (O.D.) degree from an ACOE-accredited program.
- Possess an active and current license to practice optometry in a State the District of Columbia the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico or a territory of the United States.
- Board certification or board eligibility by the American Board of Foot and Ankle Surgery (ABFAS) or American Board of Podiatric Medicine (ABPM).
- Active DEA registration for prescribing controlled substances.
- Minimum experience required is five (5) years.
- Cardio-pulmonary resuscitation (CPR) certification through the American Heart Association or the American Red Cross

Core Responsibilities
- Patient Diagnosis & Assessment: Examine patients feet ankles and lower legs to diagnose diseases structural abnormalities or bone and joint disorders.
- Diagnostic Imaging & Testing: Order review and interpret diagnostic tools including X-rays ultrasounds MRIs and bone density tests.
- Surgical Interventions: Perform outpatient and inpatient surgical procedures ranging from minor treatments (bunion removal ingrown toenails hammertoe correction) to complex reconstructive foot/ankle surgeries.
- Nonsurgical Treatments: Administer physical therapy prescribe joint pain medications and apply therapeutic techniques like casting or laser therapy.
- Chronic Disease Management: Provide specialized diabetic foot care and manage lower extremity complications caused by vascular disease arthritis and obesity.
- Patient Education: Advise patients and caregivers on proper foot care preventative health habits appropriate footwear choices and post-operative recovery instructions.
- Medical Documentation: Maintain detailed accurate and timely electronic medical records (EMR) in compliance with healthcare regulations
