Position: Construction Material Testing Project Manager

Location: St. Louis MO onsite in office

Compensation: $70000-$100000 Benefits

Job Type: Full-Time

OVERVIEW

We are seeking a Project Manager with direct construction materials testing experience. This search covers a broad experience range from candidates ready to manage smaller projects through experienced leaders who have managed teams and multimillion-dollar work.

The successful candidate must understand concrete and asphalt testing construction inspections and quality control. This is not a general construction or administrative project-management position.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Manage construction materials testing projects safely on schedule within scope and within budget.
  • Coordinate field testing inspections reporting project staff subcontractors and other resources.
  • Review project requirements test results calculations reports and client deliverables.
  • Track schedules budgets forecasts invoices change orders and collections.
  • Conduct project meetings and communicate progress to clients and internal teams.
  • Assign priorities and coordinate staff to meet project milestones.
  • Identify and resolve operational issues before they create delays.
  • Maintain strong safety quality-control and documentation standards.
  • Manage projects ranging from under $50000 to more than $100000 with larger assignments potentially reaching into the multimillions.
  • Depending on experience provide leadership and oversight for approximately 5-10 employees.

MUST HAVES

  • Direct construction materials testing experience.
  • Working knowledge of concrete and asphalt testing.
  • Ability to perform or oversee construction materials testing from day one.
  • Experience with construction inspections and quality control.
  • Strong time-management and organizational skills.
  • Ability to balance field activity reporting deadlines client needs and multiple projects.
  • Valid drivers license with an acceptable driving history.

  • Relevant bachelors degree with at least 2 years of related experience or at least 6 years of directly related experience without a degree.
  • Comfortable working approximately 50% in the field during the first six months before transitioning to approximately 90% office and 10% field.

PREFERRED

  • Degree in engineering or another closely related technical discipline.
  • MoDOT IDOT ICC NICET PE PG or similar certification.
  • Experience managing project budgets invoicing change orders and collections.
  • Client-facing engineering-consulting experience.
  • Experience managing projects valued above $100000.
  • Experience leading 5-10 employees.
