Job Summary
STV is seeking a dynamic Plumbing Designer/Plumbing Engineering Specialist to join our team in the Boston MA office. The Buildings Division provides design services to both public agencies and private corporations. Current projects include public transit convention centers and transportation maintenance facilities; municipal buildings such as public works facilities; and light commercial/retail. Other potential projects include correctional facilities law enforcement public health andboth K-12 andhigher education buildings.
Key responsibilities will include preparing plumbing designs calculations estimates reports and specifications for building projectsunder the direction of senior engineers and senior designers. Additional responsibilities include conducting site surveys of existing conditions assisting with construction punch lists and participating in client meetings to discuss project needs and provide recommendations.
Required Skills:
The ideal candidate will have experience with AutoCAD Revit hydraulic calculations specification writingandfamiliarity with applicable building codes and cost estimating. Exposure to LEED AP CPD or PE certifications is preferred but not required. The candidate should demonstrate the ability to collaborate with team members contribute to project deliveryby taking ownership of assigned tasks and communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Required Experience:
The candidate will have a Bachelors Degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field and/or a credential such as CPD (Certified in Plumbing Design). The successful candidate will have 35 years of relevant experience designing a variety of facilities including industrial educational institutional or governmental projects. Strong Revit skills are preferred. Experience with plumbing systems including sanitary storm domestic water and natural gas is required. Good planning organizational and communication skills are essential for success in this role. Exposure to fire protection systems (wet/dry/pre-action sprinklers and standpipes) is a plus. Experience with industrial state agency or municipal projects is also a plus. Progress toward PE licensure is preferred.

Compensation Range:
