Job Summary:

The Plumbing Designer serves to focus primarily on the design of building-related projects including educational campuses military bases healthcare facilities hotels apartment buildings retail/commercial spaces and more using Revit and AutoCAD software.

General Duties

• Design plumbing drawings for various building types
• Develop system design calculations and select equipment for use in buildings including sump pumps sewage ejectors water heating systems water booster stations etc.
• Preparation of detailed design documents
• Specification writing/editing
• Code compliance research
• Collaborate with various team members for coordinating services with other disciplines
• Site surveys to determine existing conditions
• Provide construction administration support including submittal reviews and RFI responses

Skills

• Familiarity with local and state codes accepted standards and design guidelines
• Excellent work ethic and character
• Strong verbal and written communications skills
• Ability to work collaboratively with others but also independently
• Good time management and organizational skills with the ability to plan and prioritize obligations to meet deadlines

Qualifications

• Minimum of 5 years of experience in plumbing design for various types of facilities
• Proficiency in AutoCAD Revit and Microsoft Office software
• Bachelors Degree in Mechanical Engineering or Mechanical Engineering Technology (a plus but not required)
• EIT / PE a plus but not required
• Thorough knowledge of engineering principles and experience in a broad spectrum of building types

Location: On-site in Vista CA

Travel: 10%

The expected base salary range for this role is $85000-$95000 per year. Actual compensation will be determined based on a number of factors including skills experience qualifications and location.
