The Opportunity

Williams International has an exciting opportunity for a Platform Engineer to join our team. We are seeking a highly skilled Platform Engineer to design build automate and secure our on-premises and cloud infrastructure. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with Kubernetes Infrastructure as Code (Terraform) CI/CD automation cybersecurity best practices and enterprise monitoring platforms. This role will be responsible for delivering scalable secure and highly available platform services while ensuring compliance with security standards. This person will bridge the gap between Dev Ops and IT Infrastructure fostering a culture of collaboration speed and reliability to accelerate our software delivery processes.

This position is 100% on-site.

The Platform Engineers responsibilities will include:

  • Design build and maintain enterprise-grade on-premises cloud infrastructure
  • Deploy configure and manage Kubernetes clusters in production environments
  • Develop maintain and optimize Helm charts for application deployment
  • Build and manage Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using Terraform
  • Automate infrastructure provisioning deployment and operational tasks using Python
  • Design and maintain CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins and Argo CD
  • Implement GitOps practices for Kubernetes deployments
  • Implement cloud and infrastructure security controls based on industrys best practices
  • Perform vulnerability assessments security hardening and patch management
  • Configure and manage IAM RBAC secrets management and certificate management
  • Integrate cybersecurity tools such as vulnerability scanners endpoint protection SIEM and compliance platforms
  • Deploy and maintain monitoring logging and alerting solutions (Prometheus Grafana ELK/OpenSearch Splunk or similar).
  • Troubleshoot infrastructure application and security incidents
  • Collaborate with development DevOps networking and security teams to deliver secure platform services
  • Develop technical documentation architecture diagrams and operational procedures
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory and security standards (FAR DFARS ITAR CMMC).

Qualifications

  • Bachelors degree in computer science Information Technology or related field (or equivalent experience).
  • 5 years of experience in Infrastructure Cloud Engineering DevOps or Platform Engineering
  • 3 years of hands-on Kubernetes administration in production environments
  • Strong experience with: Kubernetes Helm Terraform Python scripting Jenkins Argo CD Git Linux Administration
  • Experience with container technologies (Docker/Containerd).
  • Strong understanding of networking concepts (TCP/IP DNS Load Balancing Firewalls VPNs).
  • Experience implementing Infrastructure as Code and GitOps methodologies
  • Knowledge of enterprise storage and virtualization platforms
  • Experience with monitoring and observability platforms such as: Prometheus Grafana ELK/OpenSearch Dynatrace Datadog
  • Strong knowledge of: RBAC Network Policies Pod Security Kubernetes Security CIS Benchmarks Zero Trust principles
  • Cloud certifications are highly preferred including one or more of:
    • Certified Kubernetes Administrator (CKA)
    • HashiCorp Certified: Terraform Associate
    • AWS Certified Solutions Architect Associate or Professional
    • Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator Associate or Azure Solutions Architect Expert
    • Google Professional Cloud Architect
  • U.S. citizenship is required
