Job Summary

Independence Corrugated a subsidiary of Schwarz Partners and Corrugated manufacturing industry leader is currently seeking a Safety Coordinator at our plant in Oak Creek WI. As our Safety Manager you will be the leader and champion of our safety-first culture. You will be responsible for developing implementing and continuously improving the safety strategy for our facility. You will be responsible for planning establishing implementing training and maintaining our health and safety programs to assure the highest possible degree of safety for our employees. ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS: Implement monitor direct and maintain all safety programs to help ensure a safe work environment for all employees and third relevant safety systems. Document all safety items such as safety concerns corrective actions and resolutions. Build and continuously improve safety procedures standards policies and document all training records regularly. Identify training needs and organize plan and schedule training interventions to meet safety standards. Coordinate and plan training activities and ultimately ensure all employees are properly trained and proficient with all safety policies practices and initiatives. Practice safety first and look for ways to improve the safety conditions of the plant. Communicate professionally with all levels of personnel (vendors visitors managers staff etc.) at all times. Develop strong internal working relations with all team levels to support and promote a Safety First mentality. Assist management team with requested reports/information for weekly & monthly crew/plant meeting preparations. Ability to present training lessons to large and small groups. Strong in investigating accidents; to be able to identify problems and help create solutions with a team. Develop annual safety and health goals for the facility. Monitor lost time days away and recordable incidents. Aids in training on outside contractors to ensure the facilitys safety and health policies are being followed. Supports facility employees in selecting appropriate PP. Able to complete inspections evaluations and reviews in a timely manner. Work in conjunction with Human Resources to conduct new hire Onboarding and training. Ability to effectively multi-task prioritize work effectively and work in a fast-paced environment. Regular and predictable attendance and must be able to work night shift periodically and on some weekends. Other duties as assigned. REQUIRED EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE:High School Diploma.3 5 years of Safety Experience in a manufacturing EDUCATION: Bachelors Degree from an accredited SKILLS: Demonstrate ability to build implement and manage safety customer service orientation. Professional communication skills. Must achieve and sustain OSHA standards. Strong team player. Ability to sit stand grasp reach push twist climb bend use of keyboard and 10 keys lift at least 50 lbs. occasionally as required by the job.
