Job Summary

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS FOR THIS POSITION:
  • Lead all departments in the plant to maintain safety quality and efficient production.
  • Coordinate production distribution and warehousing functions in accordance with established policies principles and procedures.
  • Develop and implement plans policies and procedures for efficient use of materials machines and employees.
  • Review and analyze production costs and product quality and modify production and inventory control programs to maintain and enhance profitable operation of the plant.
  • Direct preparation of production human resources and labor/costs records.
  • Recommend budgets to management.
  • Manage Pay for Skills program for production employees.
  • Maintain positive working relationship with sales management and customer service management.
  • Systematically review financial performance of the plant to recommend to management opportunities for sales growth and cost savings.
  • Coordinate plant safety environmental and training activities in cooperation with the Human Resources Department.
  • Regular and predictable attendance.
  • Manages subordinate supervisors and/or production management who supervise all plant employees.
  • Is responsible for the overall direction coordination and evaluation of these units.
  • Comply with company policies and procedures and all applicable laws and regulations.
  • Responsibilities include training employees; planning assigning and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
  • Additional duties as assigned.
REQUIRED EDUCATION & EXPEREINCE:
  • High school diploma or GED plus college and/or appropriate technical courses.
  • Five years experience as a proven manager.
  • Ten years corrugated manufacturing experience.
  • College degree preferred.
REQUIRED SKILLS & ABILITIES:
  • Equipment design and capabilities that can be translated into efficient operation. This also supports the supervisors role of teacher and trainer for his/her personnel.
  • Cost issues in order to make daily decisions that will reduce overall costs and will help the supervisor find areas that require improvement.
  • Budget development adherence and analysis.
  • Quality standards.
  • Regulatory requirements including but not limited to wage and hour requirements environmental and waste minimization company policies and personnel requirements including OSHA DEQ and EEO.
  • Ability to read analyze and interpret general business periodicals professional journals technical procedures or governmental regulations.
  • Ability to write reports business correspondence and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers clients customers and the general public.
  • Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference and fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry.
  • Ability to apply concepts such as fractions percentages ratios and proportions to practical situations.
  • Ability to define problems collect data establish facts and draw valid conclusions.
  • Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
