Job Summary
SUMMARY: The dispatcher is responsible for either a batch plant or drum manufacturing plants daily production to produce quality asphalt for customers.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Ensure a safe work environment in compliance with all safety policies and procedures using the appropriate tools and equipment for the task
Operate the computer-controlled plant
Understand technical specifications to produce a quality asphalt material
Work within the daily schedule to maximize production efforts
Know about preventive maintenance and be able to make repairs if needed
Complete work to ensure standards specifications and requirements are met
Ability to understand basic safety and work instructions
Operating and monitoring either a batch or drum asphalt plant
Assisting QC and ensuring mixed designs meets customer specifications
Distributing material on time to internal and external customers
Order required aggregate material from suppliers as needed
Perform daily and weekly production reports
Load trucks
Maintaining favorable and effective communication with customers
Able to work safely follow OSHA guidelines and keep work area clean
Performs other job responsibilities as assigned
WORKING CONDITIONS:
Working in a climate-controlled room may require going outside and being exposed to airborne particles outside weather conditions moving mechanical parts. The noise level is usually moderate but at times may be exposed to loud noises.
PHYSICAL AND MENTAL DEMANDS:
Ability to wear and maintain personal protective equipment (PPE) as required
Stand and sit for prolonged amounts of time
Walk bend kneel and twist
Talk and hear
Lift and move up to 25 pounds
EDUCATION
High school or equivalent (Preferred)
CERTIFICATIONS:
None
EXPERIENCE:
1 year of asphalt plant operation is preferred
Knowledge of hot mix asphalt technology
Schedule:
Monday Saturday
