Job Summary

This role performs professional and technical work in the Community Development Department. Independently plan and implement current and long-range planning projects and manage applications and support the Director in department activities. This includes a variety of routine and complex technical and professional work in current and/or long-range planning of the county and the development and implementation of land use and related policies and regulations. Position will focus generally on permit application review for compliance with the Gunnison County Land Use Resolution.


Pay Rate

The hourly range is from $32.06 to $36.50 depending on experience plus full benefits.

Requirements
  • Must possess a valid Colorado drivers license.
  • Must complete ICS 100 and ICS 700 within the first year of employment.

Qualifications/Education

  • Graduation from an accredited four-year college or university with a bachelors degree in land-use planning natural resources or environmental resources with emphasis on geology ecology biology or related fields; and
  • One to two years professional planning experience and demonstration of increasingly responsible related experience in land use planning and local government administration
  • One to two years of experience with direct contact and assistance to the public in a governmental or regulatory context;
  • Experience with drafting and effectively presenting written and oral presentations to elected officials commissions or the public preferred or
  • Any equivalent combination of related
