Job Summary

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelors degree in criminology Sociology Criminal Justice Psychology Social Work or another related field.

  • Five years of experience working with criminal justice system preferably within the State of Montana.

  • Knowledge of placement options statues and alternatives within the Montana Department of Corrections preferred.

  • Experience with detail-oriented data tracking with a strict emphasis on quality accuracy and system integrity preferred.

The Montana Department of Corrections is seeking a dynamic and experienced individual to fill the role of Program Specialist Supervisor. In this position you will play a crucial role in overseeing the processes and procedures for generating and screening applications to community corrections programs. As a working supervisor you will actively engage in the work alongside your team of up to 5 staff members ensuring the smooth execution of tasks and maintaining the highest standards of excellence.

  • Assess program and client needs and ensure that program objectives are met.

  • Work with community members and other stakeholders to identify necessary programs and services.

  • Identify suggest or implement improvements to programs and services.

  • Plan and oversee outreach activities.

  • Review interpret and monitor compliance to guidelines laws and regulations.

  • Prepare reports.

  • May investigate complaints and suspected violations.

  • May coordinate activities of program committees or other groups and plan procedures.

  • Supervise or manage at least 2 FTE employees.

  • Perform management functions including hiring firing performance management discipline work distribution employee development.

  • Supervise the work of staff to ensure that programs are of appropriate quality and that resources are used effectively.
