Pipelayer Leadman Journeyperson Mesa AZ

Looking for a Pipelayer Leadman with at least 5 years experience in underground ductile iron pipe and water services. Assists the foreman with leading a crew in the installation of underground piping. Helps coordinate daily work read plans operate equipment and ensure work is completed safely and efficiently. Pay rate is $32.00 an hour Working 40 plus hrs a week with the potential of overtime. No per diem is being offered.

Job Summary

Help withlay-out and perform all types of pipelaying installation with water sewer and storm drain work in accordance with all applicable plans specifications codes and industry standards. Workwith other crafts at levels appropriate to training and skills as requested by project supervision. Must have the ability to take direction from a higher skilled worker or foreman

Minimum Job Requirements

1. Must have a minimum ofthree years experience in the industrial/commercial construction industry and have an in-depth understanding of various types and sizesof underground pipe such ascast iron ductile pvc concrete and clay.

2. Must be able to read and understandsafety and quality standards and effectively utilize all trade tools and equipment relevant to the work.

3. Possess effective verbal andwritten communication skills.

Physical Requirements

1. Work up to a 12 hour shift doing hard physical work in varying temperatures and outside conditions.

2. Will climb and maintain balance oncat walksandladders.

3. Will lift push or pull objects up to 50lbs. on an occasional basis.

4. Required to use hands to grasp lift handle carry or feel objects on a frequent basis.

5. Must be able to comply with all safety standards and procedures.

6. May reach above shoulder heights and below the waist on a frequent basis.

7. May stoop kneel or bend on an occasional basis.

8. Ability to wear personal protective equipment is required (including but not limited to; steel toed shoes gloves safety glasses hearing protection hardhat vest etc.)

9. Move in and around confined cluttered and uneven areas.
