Job Summary
Indelco Plastics is seeking a skilled Pipe Fitter/Fabricator to join our fabrication shop focused on the production of thermoplastic pipe spools. This role centers on solvent cement and fusion welding and requires precision fitting layout and assembly of spool assemblies to customer drawings and specifications. The ideal candidate has hands-on experience with thermoplastic piping systems understands fusion joining processes and takes pride in producing high-quality code-compliant ResponsibilitiesRead and interpret isometric drawings spool drawings and fabrication work orders to determine layout cutting and assembly align and fabricate thermoplastic pipe spools using infrared butt and socket fusion welding mark and cut pipe and fittings to the required dimensions and completed joints and spools for quality dimensional accuracy and compliance with applicable accurate documentation including bonder qualification records traveler notations and fusion and maintain fusion equipment ensuring proper calibration and safe with fabrication engineers shop management and quality personnel to resolve fit-up issues or drawing a clean organized and safe work area in accordance with shop safety continuous improvement efforts related to fabrication quality throughput and process Qualifications2 years of experience fitting and fabricating pipe preferably in thermoplastic materials (PVC CPVC PP PVDF HDPE).Hands-on experience with infrared butt and socket fusion welding to read and interpret isometric drawings spool drawings and piping knowledge of pipe fitting tools measuring instruments and shop attention to detail and commitment to producing quality code-compliant to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced fabrication shop school diploma or QualificationsFamiliarity with fusion data logging systems (e.g. GF CONNECT McElroy DataLogger).Exposure to ASME B31.3 process piping requirements or other code-driven fabrication fabricating for water/wastewater semiconductor/high-purity or chemical processing end experience in a formal quality system environment (ISO 9001 or similar).Physical RequirementsAbility to lift up to 50 lbs regularly and up to 75 lbs to stand bend kneel and work in various positions for extended to work in a shop environment with exposure to noise heat and fumes typical of a fabrication of personal protective equipment (PPE) as ScheduleFull-time first shift with occasional overtime based on production demand.
