Job Description
What You Will Be Doing
  • Handle PIP files from inception to conclusion including pleadings depositions motion practice negotiations trial and appeal.
  • Analyze complex legal and factual issues to develop and implement effective litigation strategies
  • Manage discovery including drafting discovery requests and responses taking and defending depositions and analyzing medical records.
  • All candidates must possess excellent academic credentials outstanding written and oral advocacy skills and strong software/technological skills including competency in Word Outlook
  • and Westlaw. Ideal candidates will be well organized detail oriented and able to independently manage a caseload where work is time sensitive.
  • Ability to take full responsibility for files
  • Directs support staff on clerical and administrative matters related to handling legal proceedings
  • Perform other tasks as assigned by supervisors.
Experience You Will Need
  • Must have a law degree from an A.B.A. accredited law school and excellent academic credentials
  • Must have an active law license to practice in Michigan and be a member in good standing with the State Bar of Michigan
  • 2 years of experience handling PIP litigation preferred. Additional handling of first and third party claims for auto carriers is a plus.
  • Knowledge of local and state discovery rules trial procedures and applicable substantive law commensurate with level of experience
  • Experience presenting and cross-examining lay and expert witnesses
  • Experience working in a paperless electronic environment
  • Strong automation/technological skills for lawsuit handling and courtroom presentation
  • Preferred qualification is the handling of PIP defense matters
Schedule: We offer flexible work hours between 8:00 AM and 5:00 PM with options like 8–4 8:30–4:30 or 9–5. We do our best to support individual preferences though schedules may be
adjusted as needed to ensure strong coverage and teamwork.
We also offer a hybrid schedule: team members work onsite four days a week and can work remotely one day a week
