Pickleball Coordinator

We value all members of our team in a supportive environment in which everyone is treated with appreciation and respect and positioned to do their best work every : The Pickleball Coordinator is a part-time position responsible for delivering high-quality pickleball instruction and programming for participants at both JCC of Greater Baltimore locations. This role will lead and support a variety of on-site activities including lessons leagues tournaments and other pickleball programming. The Pickleball Coordinator will work collaboratively with the Senior Director of Fitness to ensure the programs quality consistency growth and overall participant YOU WILL DO:Program Planning and Development Maintains program quality reliability growth and participant engagementTeach pickleball classes private lessons and clinics for youth teens and organize and administer pickleball leagues for youth teens and organize and administer pickleball tournaments for youth teens and with the planning organization implementation and supervision of pickleball programs leagues clinics and in developing and implementing policies guidelines evaluation processes goals and objectives for pickleball with the Senior Director of Fitness to develop and implement marketing strategies including program descriptions website content communication plans and the creation and distribution of promotional and maintain an adequate inventory of pickleball equipment ensuring equipment is available safe and in good working condition with support from the Senior Director of evenings and weekends as needed to support program schedules special events leagues tournaments and other departmental and uphold all JCC and departmental policies procedures and and Member Services Promotes a safe welcoming and positive participant experienceOversee and promote safe program operations including risk management participant safety and the overall welfare of participants and facility with participants in a timely and professional manner through phone email and face-to-face interactions particularly regarding private lessons program scheduling and other pickleball-related accurate and up-to-date program records including attendance waivers registrations league standings and other required positive and professional relationships with participants to provide a welcoming high-quality experience and encourage continued participation in pickleball to participant questions concerns and feedback in a professional and timely manner escalating issues to the appropriate JCC staff member when a positive inclusive and engaging environment that reflects the JCCs commitment to excellent member and participant YOU ARE:High school diploma or equivalent -specific certifications training or relevant coursework of one year of experience teaching pickleball to groups of approximately 48 or more experience teaching a variety of pickleball formats including ongoing classes private lessons clinics and one-time to develop and deliver effective pickleball curriculum while adapting instruction to meet the needs and skill levels of participants and the teaching and working with adults strongly and ability to train additional pickleball staff if knowledge of pickleball sports programming and recreational program administration ability to multitask problem-solve and make sound decisions in a fast-paced organizational and time-management skills with the ability to prioritize multiple responsibilities meet deadlines and work within established budget and solution-oriented approach to addressing challenges and improving to adapt effectively to changing program needs schedules and to remain calm professional and confident when responding to challenging or stressful interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to build positive relationships with members participants and fellow to providing exceptional customer service and creating a welcoming inclusive and positive participant to work a flexible schedule including evenings weekends and holidays as program needs DEMANDS AND WORK ENVIRONMENT:Frequently required to stand walk sit and reach with hands and be physically capable of performing manual labor work both indoors and outdoors and have the ability to lift up to 50 vision abilities required by this job include close distance peripherals depth perceptions and ability to adjust at the waist kneeling crouching or reaching above the head to store or retrieve AND BENEFITS:Salary (or Salary Range): $20/hour drop-in play $50/hour instructor payBenefit & Perks: The JCC offers complimentary membership to the Jewish Community Center discounts on job description is not intended to be all-inclusive and incumbent will also perform other reasonably related business duties as assigned by supervisor or other management as required.
