Physician Associate Orthopedics

Columbia Memorial Hospital (CMH) is seeking an experienced Orthopedic Physician Associate or Nurse Practitioner to join our established Orthopedic and Sports Medicine team in Astoria Oregon.Our opening offers the opportunity to join a group of experienced surgeons and physician associates who provide orthopedic and sports medicine care to patients in a community clinic setting. Practice Details

• General orthopedic practice that specializes in hip knee and shoulder arthroscopy and basic fractures with a high concentration of total joint replacements.
• First assist with Mako robotic joint replacements (hip knee anatomic and reverse total shoulder) and first assist in shoulder and knee arthroscopy as well as basic fractures.
• Busy orthopedic practice working with experienced surgeons and physician associates with an average clinic day seeing approximately 20 patients including a mix of preop post op injections fractures and new patients.
• As an Orthopedic APP at CMH you will see primarily adult and adolescent patients for a variety of bread-and-butter orthopedic conditions with the autonomy of seeing both new and established patients.
• Four-day work week with dedicated OR outpatient and administrative time.
• Call requirements of up to 10 days of call per month where our surgeons are primary and APPs are on call for surgical cases or assisting the surgeon as needed with our Emergency Department clinicians perform reductions.
• Tenured support staff with an excellent support staff to provider ratio.

Required Qualifications

• Two years surgical advance practice provider experience.
• Surgical experience with subcutaneous and skin closure.
• Active unrestricted Oregon Physician Associate/Nurse Practitioner license
• Active unrestricted DEA certificate
• Physician Associate Requirements
  • Masters or baccalaureate degree and completion of an ARCA-PA approved program
  • Current NCCPA certification
  • Active unrestricted Oregon Physician Associate license
• Nurse Practitioner Requirements:
  • Masters post-masters or doctorate degree in a nurse practitioner program accredited by CCNE or ACEN
