REQUIRED PROCEDURES

• Surgical First Assist
  
• Robotic Surgery
  
• General Surgery procedures
  
• Orthopedic procedures (preferred)
  
• OB/GYN procedures including C-sections
  
• Hip fracture cases
  
• Cauterization
  
• Hemostasis
  
• Wound closure (sutures staples adhesives)
  
• Surgical suction drainage and irrigation
  
• Patient positioning and immobilization
  
• Medical/Surgical floor rounding
  
• Order management
  
• Progress notes
  
• Consults and discharges
  

JOB REQUIREMENTS

• Licenses: Active New York license required
  
• Board: Board Certified
  
• Certifications: AHA BLS ACLS and ATLS required
  
• Experience: Minimum of 2 years of recent Surgical First Assist experience
  
• EMR: Epic experience required
  
• Other Qualifications: Robotics experience required; Orthopedic experience strongly preferred
  

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

• Provide Surgical First Assist coverage in the operating room
  
• Provide Medical/Surgical floor coverage
  
• Round on hospitalized patients
  
• Manage patient orders consults and discharges
  
• Assist with General Surgery Orthopedic and OB/GYN cases
  
• Participate in weekend and weekday call coverage
  
• Document patient care accurately in Epic
  
• Collaborate with surgeons anesthesia providers nursing staff and multidisciplinary teams
