Central Virginia health district is looking for an experienced applicant to fill their Physician Assistant position. This position performs patient care as a Physician Assistant with limited or no on-site access to a physician for guidance and oversight. Performs physical examinations orders diagnostic tests prescribes controlled substances may directly perform or direct others to perform nursing assessments may perform lab tests take measurements and develop and implement care plans including the administration of medication and case management. Actions performed at this level require licensure as a Physician Assistant by state code.

Minimum Qualifications
Knowledge of the principles and practices of public health and clinical medicine
Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing
Ability to assess situations resolve within scope of ability or escalate as appropriate
Skilled in all aspects of administering public health programs and directing a large and diverse organization in a dynamic environment
Ability to respond effectively to emergencies actual events or drills
Ability to maintain professional demeanor in all aspects of role
Additional Considerations
Previous clinical experience with the population served
Successful completion of the Physician Assistant National Certifying Exam (PANCE)
