- Instructs motivates safeguards and assists patients as they practice exercises or functional activities
- Confers with physical therapy occupational therapy nursing staff etc. to discuss patient information in regard to planning modifying and/or coordinating treatment
- Transports patients to and from treatment areas; lifts and transfers patients according to positioning requirements
- Safely secures patients into or onto therapy equipment
- Administers active or passive manual therapeutic interventions that include: heat ultrasound electrical modality treatments and mechanical traction
- Communicates with and/or instructs caregivers/family members on patient therapeutic activities or treatment plans to maximize patient care
- Measures patients range-of-motion body parts or vital signs to determine effects of treatment
- Monitors and records the operation and use of equipment and administration of treatment
- Ability to get into the pool with patients that require aquatic therapy
- Other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
- Demonstrates eligibility to work for any employer in the U.S.
- High school diploma GED or suitable equivalent required Associates or Bachelors Degree preferred
- Current State of Michigan PTA license required
- Current CPR certification
- Proven excellence in patient safety and care
- Previous experience is preferred within a clinic environment
- Previous experience working through procedures and assisting clients in a highly professional and approachable capacity
- Demonstrated excellent skills in verbal and written English communications for safe and effective patient care and to meet documentation standards
- Able to work in a fast-paced and stressful environment while maintaining positive energy
- Willingness to participate in goal-setting and educational activities for professional advancement
- Able to work compassionately with patients and coworkers to exhibit patient care second to none
- Demonstrates enthusiasm and drive
- Exudes respect and flexibility to impact the workplace in a positive manner
- Detailed oriented conscientious and committed to precision in work results
