Physical Therapy Aide

• Assists Licensed Therapists and Licensed Therapy Assistants with patient care and therapeutic activities.

• Prepares and maintains the treatment area to ensure a safe and organized environment.

• Performs clerical duties including ordering and stocking departmental supplies.

• Transports pediatric adolescent adult and geriatric patients to and from therapy sessions taking precautions to avoid aggravating any injuries or medical conditions.

• Safely transfers patients in and out of wheelchairs beds gurneys and other equipment using proper body mechanics and safety techniques.

• Assists staff with patient transfers treatments and delivery of therapy equipment to patient rooms as requested.

• Helps manage the therapy schedule tracks equipment usage and ensures daily cleaning and maintenance assignments are completed.

• Maintains high personal standards professionalism and positive working relationships with team members and patients.

Education:

• High School graduate or equivalent.

Experience:

• Prior hospital Physical Therapy Aide experience preferred.

Skills:

• Ability to work well with others with tact and diplomacy.
• Good verbal written and listening skills.
• Good organizational skills are essential.
• Basic clerical skills.
• Ability to prioritize multiple demands.

• BLS Healthcare Provider required within three months of hire.
• Rehab orientation on posture and body mechanics to be completed by department.
