Summary
The PT Clinical Resident is a therapist who is a licensed clinician who has strong clinical knowledge and skills and is pursuing specialization in the field of physical therapy with the expectation of the achievement of board certification. The resident will acquire advanced evidence-based clinical knowledge and clinical skills while working with clinical specialist physical therapists and advanced practitioners. The residency program is designed to advance the knowledge and skills of the resident physical therapist through higher continuing education evidenced based practice and management of focused patient populations through mentored addition to providing direct patient care the resident has additional clinical and nonclinical tasks and responsibilities delegated to them that include didactic course work clinical research and teaching in their area of clinical subspecialty. LVHN is committed to the education and professional development of individuals in the PT Clinical Resident program through ensuring a robust exposure to clinical opportunities as well as time and financial support of their educational and board certification requirements.

Job Duties
  • Examines and evaluates patients physical therapy needs. Formulates a physical therapy diagnosis and develops a treatment plan with treatment goals directed towards maximizing function.
  • Completes all required educational activities which may include assigned readings self-learning modules continuing education courses workshops or other similar learning activities.
  • Assists with orientation of new staff participation on committees supervision of students and aides and involvement in developing/revising practice standards.
  • Actively participates in implementation of performance improvement program for clinical service in area of subspecialty expertise.
  • Participates in departmental activities in order to promote staff education and protocol/pathway development in area of subspecialty expertise.

Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelors Degree Physical Therapy or
  • PT - Licensed Physical Therapist - State of Pennsylvania Upon Hire

Preferred Qualifications
  • Masters Degree Physical Therapy
  • Doctorate Physical Therapy

Physical Demands
Lift and carry 25 lbs. frequent sitting/standing frequent keyboard use *patient care providers may be required to perform activities specific to their role including kneeling bending squatting and performing CPR.
