Job Title: Physical Therapist Assistant (Orthopedic)

Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled and motivated Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) to join our orthopedic rehabilitation team. The ideal candidate will assist Physical Therapists in delivering high-quality patient-centered care focused on restoring strength mobility and function following orthopedic injuries and surgeries. The PTA will play a key role in helping patients return to their active lifestyles through evidence-based therapy techniques and personalized care plans.
Responsibilities:
  • Implement treatment programs developed by the supervising Physical Therapist focusing on orthopedic and musculoskeletal conditions.
  • Provide direct patient care through therapeutic exercises manual therapy techniques and modalities such as ultrasound electrical stimulation and cryotherapy.
  • Assist patients recovering from orthopedic surgeries sports injuries joint replacements and musculoskeletal disorders.
  • Instruct and motivate patients in performing prescribed exercises and proper movement techniques to promote recovery and prevent reinjury.
  • Observe and record patient responses to treatments documenting progress and reporting changes to the supervising Physical Therapist.
  • Educate patients and families on home exercise programs activity modifications and postural/body mechanics for injury prevention.
  • Maintain accurate thorough and timely documentation in accordance with practice and regulatory standards.
  • Collaborate with Physical Therapists physicians and other members of the care team to ensure coordinated high-quality patient care.
  • Maintain a clean safe and organized treatment area and ensure proper equipment usage.
  • Participate in continuing education and staff development activities to stay current with orthopedic and sports rehabilitation techniques.
Qualifications:
  • Associate Degree from an accredited Physical Therapist Assistant program.
  • Current state license or certification as a Physical Therapist Assistant.
  • CPR Certification required.
  • Strong understanding of orthopedic and musculoskeletal rehabilitation techniques.
  • Excellent communication documentation and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced team-oriented outpatient environment.
  • Compassionate professional and patient-focused approach to care.
  • Prior experience in an orthopedic or sports medicine clinic preferred.
Work Environment:
This position operates in an outpatient clinical setting focused on orthopedic and sports-related conditions. The role involves direct patient care physical activity and collaboration with a multidisciplinary team.
Work Schedule:
Monday Friday 8:00 AM 5:00 PM
