Physical Security Engineer

Microsofts Cloud Operations & Innovation (COI) is the engine that powers our cloud services. As aPhysical Security Engineer you will perform a key role in delivering & sustaining physical security infrastructure and foundational technologies for Microsofts online services including CoPilot Bing Office 365 Xbox OneDrive and the Microsoft Azure platform. This will include managing the health of physical security systems across a portfolio of locations through break/fix operations participating in on-call DRI rotation to provide support ensuring that systems & hardware are configured in alignment with baseline standards participate in program improvements in partnership with other teams and enabling the delivery of new datacenter capacity through programming access control and video systems. Physical Security System Implementation

• Program physical access control and video systems as part of the delivery of new datacenters.
• Provide inputs on security design standards and requirements for access control and video programming to drive programmatic improvements.

Maintaining and Operating Physical Security Systems

• Participate in on-call DRI rotation to support physical security systems.
• Assess data related to the health of security systems and infrastructure to identify gaps performance trends compliance with system configuration standards and recommend & execute repeatable strategies to address issues at scale.
• Continuously identify and execute improvements across the program to processes procedures and documentation.
• Manage physical security systems lifecycle support and compliance hosting regular datacenter site meetings in partnership with security operations and facility management teams to proactively address site security system health and coordinate maintenance and repair services with internal and external service providers.

Collaboration and Partner Experience

• Collaborate with partner engineering project management and design teams on initiatives that help to improve the physical security environment reduce costs & complexity and improve the overall effectiveness of the program.

Required Qualifications:

• Masters Degree in Statistics Mathematics Computer Science or related field AND 1 year(s) experience in software development lifecycle large-scale computing threat modeling cyber security anomaly detection Security Operations Center (SOC) detection threat analytics security incident and event management (SIEM) information technology (IT) or operations incident response OR Bachelors Degree in Statistics Mathematics Computer Science or related field AND 2 years experience in software development lifecycle large-scale computing threat modeling cyber security anomaly detection Security Operations Center (SOC) detection threat analytics security incident and event management (SIEM) information technology (IT) or operations incident response OR equivalent experience.

Background Check Requirements:

Ability to meet Microsoft customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role. These requirements include but are not limited to the following specialized security screenings:

• Microsoft Cloud Background Check: This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud background check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Doctorate in Statistics Mathematics Computer Science or related field OR Masters Degree in Statistics Mathematics Computer Science or related field AND 3 years experience in software development lifecycle large scale computing threat modeling cyber security or anomaly detection OR Bachelors Degree in Statistics Mathematics Computer Science or related field AND 5 years experience in software development lifecycle large scale computing threat modeling cyber security or anomaly detection OR equivalent experience.
• Lenel Certifications CISSP CISA CISM SANS GCIA GCIH OSCP and/or Security certification.

Security Operations Engineering IC3 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $102100 - $202200 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $133800 - $219200 per year.
