Job Summary
We are seeking motivated candidates interested in patient care and specimen collection for entry-level Phlebotomy and Patient Screening Technician opportunities.
The position involves interacting directly with patients obtaining basic health information collecting blood specimens maintaining records and following established safety and infection-control procedures.
Responsibilities
- Greet and prepare patients for specimen collection
- Confirm patient identification and required documentation
- Perform blood collection using established phlebotomy procedures
- Label and prepare specimens accurately
- Obtain basic patient information and vital signs when required
- Maintain clean and organized collection areas
- Follow infection-control and bloodborne-pathogen procedures
- Enter patient and specimen information into electronic systems
- Monitor inventory and restock basic supplies
- Communicate professionally with patients and healthcare staff
- Protect patient information in accordance with HIPAA requirements
Basic Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED
- Current HIPAA training certificate required
- Completion of a phlebotomy training program or documented phlebotomy training
- Basic computer skills
- Strong attention to detail
- Professional communication and patient-service skills
- Comfortable working with blood needles and biological specimens
- Ability to follow infection-control and safety procedures
Preferred Qualifications
- National phlebotomy certification
- Previous healthcare or patient-facing experience
- Current BLS certification
