What Youll Do
Were looking for a compassionate and detail-oriented Phlebotomist who is committed to delivering exceptional patient care through accurate specimen collection and laboratory support.
- Collect blood and other patient specimens using a variety of collection techniques including venipuncture and finger sticks.
- Verify patient identity and prepare specimens for laboratory testing and analysis.
- Perform drug screenings and breath alcohol testing.
- Process and prepare specimens for transport while maintaining quality and safety standards.
- Answer multi-line phones and respond to email and fax inquiries.
- Process department mail and complete other clerical duties as needed.
- Participate in on-call rotation and provide carrier services when required.
- Maintain accurate documentation and perform other duties as assigned.
- Performs a variety of tasks and other duties as assigned
Who Were Looking For
The ideal candidate is dependable thrives in a fast-paced environment and enjoys balancing hands-on patient interactions with clerical and operational responsibilities.
- Certification as a Phlebotomist preferred.
- American Heart Association BLS certification required within 3 months of hire and maintained throughout employment.
- 0 to 2 years of phlebotomy experience or equivalent preferred.
- Knowledge of phlebotomy practices patient safety specimen collection and laboratory procedures.
- Strong problem-solving organization and quality assurance skills.
- Ability to work independently and remain calm in emergency situations.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with patients providers and coworkers.
- Proficiency in English both written and verbal.
- Experience with arterial blood collection and general specimen collection preferred.
- Ability to become proficient within six months in Microsoft Office and applicable hospital systems including Meditech Kronos HealthStream Mayo Carescripts Allscripts and Galactica.
- Other duties as assigned.

Compensation may vary outside this range depending on a number of factors including a candidates qualifications skills competencies and experience.
