Phlebotomist Job Responsibilities:
- Perform venipuncture and capillary blood collection procedures accurately and efficiently.
- Verify patient identity and ensure proper specimen labeling and documentation.
- Process prepare and transport laboratory specimens according to established protocols.
- Maintain patient comfort and provide excellent customer service during specimen collection.
- Follow infection control safety and quality assurance procedures.
- Maintain laboratory equipment and supplies ensuring cleanliness and proper inventory levels.
- Record patient information and collection details accurately within the electronic medical record (EMR) system.
- Assist with point-of-care testing and other laboratory-related duties as assigned.
- Collaborate with providers and clinical staff to support quality patient care.
Phlebotomist Job Qualifications:
- At least 1 year of experience as a Phlebotomist in a clinical laboratory or healthcare setting.
- Phlebotomy certification required (CPT PBT or equivalent preferred).
- At least 1 year of EMR experience; eClinicalWorks preferred.
- Strong knowledge of specimen collection handling and processing procedures.
- High level of professionalism and attention to detail.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong customer service and patient care skills.
- Must have a High School diploma or GED equivalent.
