Responsibilities

  • Perform sterile compounding duties including the preparation of chemotherapy and other hazardous drugs under the supervision of the Pharmacy Manager Staff Pharmacist or Pharmacy Technician Supervisor.

  • Operate and maintain the sterile compounding environment in compliance with regulatory and safety standards.

  • Prepare and package medications and supplies for patient deliveries.

  • Participate in Quality Control (QC) and Quality Improvement (QI) activities to support safety compliance and performance goals.

  • Spend the majority of the shift engaged in sterile compounding chemotherapy compounding or supporting/cleaning tasks related to the sterile environment.

  • Utilize electronic health record (EHR)-supported barcode validation and image verification systems (e.g. Dispense Prep/Check DoseEdge) according to system protocols.

  • Consistently perform and document assigned environmental monitoring and cleaning tasks for the shift.

Qualifications

Education:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.

Experience:

  • Two years pharmacy tech experience required.
  • Sterile Compounding experience preferred.
  • Keyboard skills and ability to navigate electronic systems applicable to job functions.

Licensure

  • Current applicable state Pharmacy Technician Licensure required prior to date of hire and maintained thereafter.

Pay Range

USD $27.12 - USD $38.77 /Hr.
