Status: Full-Time (40 hours/week)
Shift: Days (Anticipated Mon-Fri)
Hours: 7:30AM-4:00PM or 8:00AM-4:30PM
The Pharmacy Tech II performs the technician responsibilities in specialized areas of pharmacy practice under the direct supervision of a licensed pharmacist or licensed independent practitioner.
- Triages manages and processes incoming medication refill requests from pharmacies patients and providers accurately and within established turnaround times to support continuity of patient care.
- Provides pharmacists and providers with relevant clinical and administrative information by performing accurate and efficient chart reviews while identifying documenting and communicating discrepancies or failed protocols requiring escalation.
- Triages and escalates questions clinical concerns or issues outside the pharmacy technician scope of practice to the appropriate pharmacist provider or care team member.
- Maintains quality assurance according to departmental standards legal requirements and medication refill program expectations.
- Communicates effectively and collaborates with fellow pharmacy technicians pharmacists providers and interdisciplinary care team members in a primarily electronic workflow environment.
- Demonstrates advanced technical skills ownership of medication refill workflows strong attention to detail organization sound judgment and the ability to work independently within defined centralized pharmacy technician responsibilities.
- Participates in onboarding training and support of new employees as assigned.
- In addition to the above job responsibilities other duties may be assigned.
- A pharmacy technician license is required in the state of practice.
Education
High School Diploma or Equivalent (Required)
Certification/Licensure
Virginia Pharmacy Tech License (Required)
CPhT License (Received through the NHA or PTCB) (Required)
Experience
