Wayne - Full time 70 hours per pay period 7 days on 7 days off midnight shift

About the Unit

Our team is comprised of pharmacists and pharmacy technicians. Our inpatient pharmacy team collaborates closely with healthcare providers to ensure optimal medication management for hospitalized patients. We oversee the medication storage distribution and management in a variety of settings. We review medication orders for accuracy and potential interactions accurately prepare and dispense medications provide evidence-based drug information monitor drug levels to optimize therapy and educate patients and families about their medications. By prioritizing medication safety and minimizing adverse events we strive to improve patient outcomes and contribute to their overall well-being.

About Corewell Health Wayne Hospital

Corewell Health Wayne Hospital opened its doors to western Wayne communities in 1957. This full-service hospital is the only hospital in the Wayne Westland Garden City Canton Inkster and Romulus area verified by the American College of Surgeons as a Level III Trauma Center. The hospital has a longstanding partnership with Detroit Metropolitan Airport and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention to handle a wide variety of health and communicable disease concerns including mass trauma and emergency patients.

Scope of Work

Under the direction and supervision of a Pharmacist performs a variety of functions related to preparation storage distribution and dispensing of prescriptions. Within the Hospital rotation through IV admixture and unit dose service is routine. Rotation to OR Pharmacy Services and Outpatient Pharmacy Services may be required. Performs data entry and other record keeping functions as determined to be necessary to the operations of the department.

Qualifications

  • Required A level of knowledge normally acquired through completion of a general high school diploma program or GED.
  • Experience with sterile compounding and/or 6 months technician experience and/or graduate of an ASHP accredited technician training program. Preferred
  • LIC-Pharmacy Technician - STATEMI State of Michigan Upon Hire required
