Job Summary


Position Overview

We are seeking a compassionate detail-oriented and dedicated Part-Time Pharmacy Technician to join our clinic this role you will play a vital part in providing accessible healthcare services to under-served uninsured or low-income populations in our community. You will assist our Staff Pharmacy RN and licensed volunteer pharmacists in preparing and dispensing medications managing inventory and supporting patients with kindness and cultural humility.

Key Responsibilities

  • Medication Dispensing: Accurately package label and dispense prescription medications under the direct supervision of Hopes staff pharmacy RN and licensed volunteer pharmacists.
  • Patient Interaction: Greet patients answer non-clinical inquiries assist with prescriptions refill requests and connect patients with medication assistance or discount programs.
  • Inventory Management: Monitor medication stock levels and check expiration dates. Work with Pharmacy RN to order medications from retail and charitable sources.
  • Record Keeping: Maintain accurate electronic health records (EHR) and pharmacy database logs ensuring strict compliance with HIPAA state board of pharmacy regulations and clinic policies.
  • Administrative Support: Process medication assistance applications (MAP) coordinate with Hope Clinic Patient Advocacy and help maintain a clean organized and safe dispensary environment.
    • Learn ordering system for medications.

Qualifications & Requirements

  • Licensure/Certification: Active State Pharmacy Technician License and Certified Pharmacy Technician (CphT) credential through the PTCB or ExCPT.
  • Experience: Minimum of 12 years of experience working as a pharmacy technician in a retail hospital or community clinic setting.
  • Language Skills: Bilingual proficiency (e.g. Spanish Arabic or other regional languages commonly spoken by our patient demographic) is strongly preferred.
  • Core Competencies: Strong attention to detail excellent interpersonal and communication skills and proficiency with pharmacy management software and basic office tools.
  • Values Alignment: A demonstrated passion for public health healthcare equity and supporting vulnerable populations.

Schedule & Compensation

  • Type: Part-time (approx. 1525 hours per week)
  • Schedule: Daytime weekday shifts (Tuesdays Wednesdays Thursdays and occasional Saturday mornings).
  • Pay Rate: Competitive hourly wage (commensurate with experience).
