*** Pharmacy Technician - 40hrs. Days/Eves Rotate *** Shift: 6:00am-2:30pm or 2:30pm-11:00pm (any day of the week inclusive of weekends). 1. Unit Name: Pharmacy. 2. Brief Unit Description: Inpatient Hospital Pharmacy. 3. Years of Experience Required: 1-2 years. 4. Skill Sets Required: Previous hospital-related experience formal training or certification from a pharmacy technician training program desired 1-2 years. A) Retrieves medications from central pharmacy and fills automated dispensing cabinets accurately and safely. B) Perform intermediate mathematical calculations associated with preparing non-sterile extemporaneously manufactured pharmaceutical products and other medication doses. C) Follow all applicable state and federal controlled substance regulations. D) Continuously improve skills necessary of area-specific technology including but not limited to robotics automation software equipment and information system. E) Read interpret and follow complex verbal and written instructions to prepare medications (IV compounds) in a sterile environment in an accurate manner. 5. Education Required: High School diploma or equivalent. 6. EMR (Charting System) & Equipment Used: Epic Omnicell. 7. Rotating Shifts Required: Yes. 8. Certification Required: Yes Massachusetts Pharmacy Technician registration and National Pharmacy Technician certification (CPhT or ExCPT).
