Pharmacist, Veterinary Pharmacy

Location: Elizabethtown PA 17022
Pay Rate: Up to $42.40 per hour
Schedule: Monday through Friday 9:00 AM to 5:30 PM
Hours: Approximately 32 to 40 hours per week
Assignment: Temporary opportunity with the possibility of extension through the end of October

We are seeking a licensed Pharmacist to support a specialized veterinary pharmacy operation in Elizabethtown Pennsylvania. This role is responsible for accurately reviewing preparing dispensing and documenting prescription medications ordered by licensed veterinarians while providing exceptional service to veterinary clinics and end-users.

• Obtain and verify valid prescription information from licensed veterinarians or their designated agents prior to dispensing.

• Initiate and receive telephone calls and faxes related to medication orders.

• Review prescriptions for accuracy and clarify medication orders when necessary.

• Accurately dispense medications according to prescriptions issued by licensed veterinarians.

• Prepare medications according to current veterinary pharmacy standards and professional practices.

• Ensure medications are properly labeled packaged and delivered safely and efficiently.

• Respond to medication and approved-use questions from healthcare providers and end-users as appropriate.

• Maintain accurate records of prescriptions filled and medications dispensed.

• Prepare required reports including daily dispensing logs and monthly utilization reports.

• Ensure pharmaceutical products are stored under appropriate conditions.

• Maintain a high standard of customer service and promptly resolve pharmacy or order-related concerns.

• Provide backup support to other pharmacy locations as needed.

• Cross-train across pharmacy operational functions including inventory replenishment prescription entry wave orders pick and tote orders order entry electronic filing in SharePoint WMS inventory and order control clinic communication order issue resolution packing and closing orders printing prescriptions and canceling orders within WMS.

• Maintain an active and unrestricted pharmacist license.

• Perform additional related duties as assigned.

• Degree in Pharmacy from an accredited College of Pharmacy.

• Current unrestricted Registered Pharmacist license in the applicable state.

• Strong knowledge of pharmaceutical products services and drug interactions.

• Ability to work quickly and accurately in a high-volume deadline-driven environment.

• Strong written and verbal communication skills.

• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.

• Strong analytical leadership interpersonal and problem-solving abilities.

• Ability to resolve customer concerns professionally and efficiently.

• Proficiency with Microsoft Word Excel PowerPoint and Outlook.

Candidates must be physically capable of:

• Lifting up to 50 pounds.

• Ascending and descending stairs as needed to retrieve and process prescription orders.

This position offers a consistent weekday schedule competitive hourly compensation of up to $42.40 per hour exposure to specialized veterinary pharmacy operations and the possibility of an assignment extension through the end of October.
