What youll do at DBH:

We are seeking a detail-oriented customer-focused Pharmacist to join our this role you will ensure safe and effective medication use through accurate dispensing clinical review sterile compounding inventory management and leadership of pharmacy support staff. The ideal candidate demonstrates strong clinical judgment adheres to high standards of regulatory compliance and contributes to efficient pharmacy.
Key Responsibilities:
Medication Preparation & Dispensing
  • Compound prepare dispense and label medications in compliance with state and federal law.
  • Review and validate patient profiles for dose accuracy interactions contraindications and therapy duration.
  • Transcribe and process verbal prescription orders.
  • Verify final medication product and labeling prior to dispensing.
  • Maintain an organized and compliant work area.
  • Ensure complete and accurate documentation for all medications dispensed.
  • Supervise and verify work completed by pharmacy technicians.

Clinical Review & Medication Safety

  • Conduct clinical reviews to monitor medication appropriateness and therapeutic outcomes.
  • Identify and address drugdrug drugfood interactions duplications and inappropriate therapy.
  • Communicate with prescribers regarding medication concerns or optimization opportunities.
  • Recommend formulary alternatives when appropriate.
  • Maintain documentation and compliance required by accrediting and regulatory bodies.

Operational Workflow & Technology Management

  • Prioritize daily workflow activities including printing orders and Medication Administration Records (MARs).
  • Use pharmacy software systems to process orders and generate reports.
  • Operate and troubleshoot unit dose systems and automated dispensing technologies.
  • At sites utilizing Automated Dispensing Cabinets (ADCs) manage restocking discrepancy resolution overrides and administrativelevel tasks.
  • Support special projects and workflow improvement initiatives.

Inventory & Supply Management

  • Order receive and maintain adequate drug and supply inventory.
  • Monitor expiration dates rotate stock and process returns of outdated products.
  • Ensure secure storage of medications including controlled substances and accountable items.
  • Assist with inventory audits and maintain accurate stock records.

Professional Development & Leadership

  • Serve as a lead worker overseeing pharmacy technician activities.
  • Attend staff meetings and continuing education programs.
  • Share updates on new drug information with pharmacy staff.
  • Contribute to a collaborative efficient and patientfocused work environment.

This is anhourly position covered by the Ohio Health Care SEIU/1199 bargaining unit (union) with a pay range of17on theOhio Health Care SEIU/1199Pay Range Schedule. Normal working hours Monday through Friday 8:00am to 5:000pm This position is located within Ohio Pharmacy Services 2150 W. Broad St. Columbus Ohio 43223.

Unless required by any applicable union contract and/or requirements of the Ohio Revised Code the selected candidate will begin at Step 1 of the pay range schedule listed above with an opportunity for pay increase after six months of satisfactory performance and then a yearly raise thereafter.

Current & valid license to practice pharmacy as issued by Ohio State Board of Pharmacy pursuant to Sections 4729.01 to 4729.29 inclusive of Ohio Revised Code; must provide own transportation.
