Overview

In cooperation with the staff of the pharmacy provides prescribed medications drugs and other pharmaceuticals as needed for adequate patient care according to professional standards and practices. Advises and consults with patients and families and medical and nursing staff.

Responsibilities
  • Dispensing & Verification
    Accurately fill prescriptions verify medication orders and ensure compliance with federal and state regulations.
  • Patient Counseling & Education
    Provide medication counseling answer patient questions and promote safe and effective medication use.
  • Medication Therapy Management (MTM)
    Conduct comprehensive and targeted medication reviews document interventions and collaborate with providers throughout the Beebe Healthcare system to optimize therapy and ensure patient safety.
  • Regulatory Compliance
    Maintain adherence to HIPAA DEA FDA and state pharmacy board requirements; ensure accurate record-keeping and documentation.
  • Inventory & Supply Management
    Monitor stock levels manage procurement and minimize waste through effective inventory control.
  • Quality Assurance & Safety
    Implement and follow protocols for medication safety error prevention and infection control
  • Collaboration & Communication
    Work closely with Cape Pharmacy colleagues healthcare providers insurance companies and internal teams to ensure seamless patient care.
  • Technology Utilization
    Use pharmacy management systems for prescription processing billing and patient documentation; stay current with technology updates.
  • Customer Service Excellence
    Deliver a positive patient experience by addressing concerns promptly and maintaining a friendly collegial environment.

Credentials

Prior Community and/or Retail Pharmacy experience is helpful.
