Description

Global Supplier Services manages the operation for the Procure to Pay process within the firm incorporating Contract Management Purchase Orders Corporate Accounts Payable (Expense Corporate Card Non-PO payment requests Fixed Assets Supplier set- up and maintenance Indirect Tax approval authorities and event ticket management.

As aPersonal Property Tax (PPT) Associate on the payment operations team you will serve as asubject matter expertsupporting the end-to-end PPT process. Primary responsibilities include preparing personal property tax returns; reviewing and analyzing assessment notices; proactively appealing overassessments to help minimize tax expense and reduce audit risk; preparing tax bills for payment; and supporting additional assignments and projects as needed.

This function sits within theIndirect Tax Operationsteam part ofPayment OperationswithinGlobal Services Solutions (GSS). The team prepares and files & UseandPersonal Property Tax (PPT)returns for JPMorgan Chase remits related payments and supports all related audits. The team also manages supplier-related foreign and domestic tax withholding and reporting and performs a broad range of indirect tax activities tied toAccounts Payablefor international locations.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Prepareandfileannual personal property tax returns for multiple legal entities across the firm.
  • Reviewandanalyzeasset listings and lien-date transaction data to ensure correct asset classification.
  • Adaptto evolving filing requirements systems and standards while maintaining accuracy and control.
  • Analyzeproperty tax assessments andfileappeals for overassessments.
  • Partnerwith tax assessors/collectors to resolve billing issues and address assessed value differences.
  • Analyzeandsubmitpersonal property tax bills for payment including follow-up on unbilled assets.
  • Coordinateoutreach to tax collectors to obtain missing bills and facilitate timely payment.
  • Researchandresolvegeneral ledger reconciliations related to property tax activity.
  • Extractandanalyzeproperty tax data from legacy systems using ad hoc reporting tools to identify issues and trends.
  • Developcost-savings and efficiency strategies andsupportad hoc projects as needed.

Required Qualifications Capabilities and Skills:

  • Bachelors degree in Finance Accounting or a related field (or equivalent experience) with strong analytical skills.

  • 3 years of professional experience including 1 year in financial analysis/accounting with an understanding of financial reporting.
  • Deliverhigh-quality work with urgency meeting deadlines through strong prioritization and multitasking.
  • Demonstrateself-direction motivation attention to detail and precise execution with minimal supervision.
  • Applystrong independent problem-solving and analytical skills adapting to evolving requirements systems and standards.
  • Communicateexceptionally well (written and verbal) collaborate effectively and show emotional intelligence in high-pressure environments across locations/time zones.
  • Leverage intermediate-to-advanced Microsoft Excel skills; knowledge of the Project Tracking and Management System and familiarity with Systems Applications and Products in Data Processing while maintaining procedures guidelines policies and the highest professional standards

Preferred Qualifications Capabilities and Skills:

  • 3 years of professional experience (including financial analysis/accounting exposure) with an understanding of financial reporting and controls.
  • Demonstrate strong analytical problem-solving and critical-thinking skills; strong written and oral communication skills; ability to work independently as well as part of a team with ability to self-manage work responsibilities and associated deadlines.
  • Apply intermediate-to-advanced Microsoft Excel skills; use knowledge of the Project Tracking and Management System and familiarity with Systems Applications and Products in Data Processing to support reporting and processing.
  • Adaptquickly to evolving and increasingly complex filing requirements systems and standards while maintaining accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Communicateeffectively (written and verbal) andcollaboratewith internal partners and external tax authorities to resolve billing issues and support audits.
  • Negotiateconstructively with tax assessors/collectors to resolve assessed value differences appeals and other inquiries.
  • Operateeffectively in deadline-driven environments by prioritizing multitasking and remaining flexible across a virtual multi-location team.
