Job Description:
The Performance Support Specialist plays a crucial role within the strength and conditioning department by ensuring the effective management of training environments and the integration of technology into athlete performance monitoring. This position focuses on the operational and analytical aspects of athletic performance enabling coaches and athletes to maximize their training potential.
Job Responsibilities:
Weight Room Operations:
Set up and break down training equipment for various workouts ensuring a safe and efficient training environment.
Maintain cleanliness and organization of the weight room and training facilities.
Wearable Technology Management:
Oversee the distribution collection and maintenance of wearable performance devices (e.g. heart rate monitors GPS units).
Assist in the analysis of training data gathered from wearables helping to interpret metrics for coaching staff.
Data Management:
Input and manage performance data in relevant software systems ensuring accuracy and accessibility for coaching and medical staff.
Collaborate with strength coaches and sports scientists to provide insights based on data analysis.
Athlete Support:
Assist athletes in understanding the use of wearable devices and the importance of data collection.
Provide logistical support during training sessions and competitions.
Communication:
Serve as a liaison between strength and conditioning staff coaching staff and athletes regarding training schedules and equipment needs.
Substitution Statement: An equivalent combination of related experience and education may be considered for this role. Substitutions of the required experience or education will be assessed on a 1:1 substitution basis.
