Primary Purpose:

Manage and coordinate the districts Public Education Information Management System (PEIMS) to ensure the timely accurate and complete collection validation and submission of all required state and federal data. Maintain compliance with Texas Education Agency (TEA) reporting requirements and provide technical support and training to campus and district staff regarding student staff financial and organizational data reporting.

Qualifications:

Education/Certification:

A Bachelors degree from an accredited college or university is preferred

Bilingual (Spanish) preferred

Experience:

Five (5) years of experience in data management data reporting and data validation is required. Experience with student information systems and state and federal accountability systems is required. Experience with data quality control with large-scale databases is preferred.

  • Experience with data extraction reporting and analysis tools is required.
  • The incumbent must possess excellent data analysis skills and have working knowledge of a student information system; experience with the Harris information system is preferred.
  • The incumbent must be proficient in Google Sheets and have experience validating PEIMS and/or TEA files.
  • The incumbent must be able to read and interpret error logs and reports.
  • The incumbent must demonstrate initiative flexibility the ability to multitask and maintain a professional and helpful attitude.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills are required as well as strong project and task management skills.

Job Purpose and Responsibility:
The District PEIMS Specialist will ensure accurate compliant and timely TSDS submissions. This role is responsible for submitting TSDS Core Collections managing TSDS Enrollment Tracking and Student UID uploads monitoring district data for potential fatal errors or compliance issues monitoring student attendance/special program data every 6 weeks in accordance with the TEA Student Attendance Accounting Handbook and providing Tier 1 support for OnDataSuite. The position plays a key role in maintaining district data integrity supporting campuses/departments with coding and data entry questions and ensuring alignment with TEA reporting requirements.

Essential Functions:
  • Submit TSDS Core Collections (Class Roster ECDS SPPI-14 SPEDS RF Tracker) in coordination with the District PEIMS Coordinator.
  • Manage TSDS Enrollment Tracking and Student UID processes including file creation validation timely uploads UID requests updates merges and conflict resolution.
  • Monitor SIS and TSDS data daily to identify missing inaccurate or non-compliant data that may result in fatal errors or reporting issues.
  • Analyze district data trends to detect potential data quality concerns across enrollment attendance discipline and special program coding.
  • Monitor student attendance and special program data each six-week reporting period in accordance with the Student Attendance Accounting Handbook (SAAH) ensuring accurate coding and alignment with state funding and accountability requirements.
  • Provide Tier 1 support for OnDataSuite assisting campuses with report navigation troubleshooting and understanding PEIMS-related datasets.
  • Support campus staff with PEIMS coding questions TSDS validations enrollment/withdrawal processes and error resolution.
  • Assist in preparing district data for state submissions ensuring accuracy completeness and compliance with TEA PEIMS Data Standards.
  • Collaborate with district departmentsincluding Special Education Bilingual/ESL Accountability CTE and Technologyto ensure accurate and aligned data reporting.
  • Participate in district training office hours and data validation sessions to support campus readiness for state reporting.
  • Maintain documentation SOPs and support materials to ensure consistent processes and audit readiness across the district.
  • Attend seminars conferences and workshops to continuously update knowledge of educational research methodology and data analysis.
  • Provide an exceptional customer experience for all AISD stakeholders with intentional and professional practices that promote a culture of respect.

Personal Work Relationships:
This position reports to the appropriate department supervisor. Incumbent will have regular contact with Cedars International Academy Administrators and employees as well as contact with outside vendors.
Supervisory Responsibilities:

Share supervisory responsibility for professional staff with the school principal. Supervise Registrars Clerical personnel and others as assigned.
