This position is based at Adapt of Missouri a subsidiary of Compass Health Network.
- Build trusting relationships with clients through outreach engagement and shared lived experience in recovery.
- Collaborate with clients to develop and support individualized recovery and wellness goals that promote self-determination and independence.
- Provide peer-based support encouragement and education to help clients access needed services such as mental health care housing financial assistance and community resources.
- Accompany clients to appointments and assist with connecting to healthcare social services and recovery supports.
- Engage families and support networks in the recovery process when appropriate.
- Promote medication adherence self-care and wellness through education and collaborative problem-solving.
- Serve as a role model of recovery resilience and hope encouraging client empowerment and progress toward personal goals.
- Partner with Community Support Specialists and other team members to share updates coordinate care and ensure safety and continuity of services.
- Maintain accurate timely documentation and meet outreach and service expectations in accordance with agency standards.
- Provide transportation support when clinically indicated; driving is an essential function of this position
- Complete required state training supervision and certification processes (if not already certified)
- High School/GED required
- Must self-identify as a current or former consumer of behavioral health substance use or co-occurring disorder services
- Must complete a state-approved training program pass a standardized examination complete certification process within 60 days of hire date and maintain ongoing certification as a Certified Peer Specialist through the MCB (MO). Required only when applicable.
- A valid drivers license and agency established minimum automobile coverage required
- Are in recovery and want to use your story to inspire others
- Understand the importance of peer connection self-determination and community support
- Are empathetic reliable and able to build trusting relationships
- Communicate openly and respectfully with others from all walks of life
- Are excited to be part of a supportive clinical team
