This position is based at Adapt of Missouri a subsidiary of Compass Health Network.


Key Responsibilities

  • Build trusting relationships with clients through outreach engagement and shared lived experience in recovery.
  • Collaborate with clients to develop and support individualized recovery and wellness goals that promote self-determination and independence.
  • Provide peer-based support encouragement and education to help clients access needed services such as mental health care housing financial assistance and community resources.
  • Accompany clients to appointments and assist with connecting to healthcare social services and recovery supports.
  • Engage families and support networks in the recovery process when appropriate.
  • Promote medication adherence self-care and wellness through education and collaborative problem-solving.
  • Serve as a role model of recovery resilience and hope encouraging client empowerment and progress toward personal goals.
  • Partner with Community Support Specialists and other team members to share updates coordinate care and ensure safety and continuity of services.
  • Maintain accurate timely documentation and meet outreach and service expectations in accordance with agency standards.
  • Provide transportation support when clinically indicated; driving is an essential function of this position
  • Complete required state training supervision and certification processes (if not already certified)

Requirements Skills Knowledge and Expertise

  • High School/GED required
WORK EXPERIENCE
  • Must self-identify as a current or former consumer of behavioral health substance use or co-occurring disorder services
  • Must complete a state-approved training program pass a standardized examination complete certification process within 60 days of hire date and maintain ongoing certification as a Certified Peer Specialist through the MCB (MO). Required only when applicable.
  • A valid drivers license and agency established minimum automobile coverage required
