JOB DESCRIPTION:
SUMMARY OF POSITION
The CPRS Peer Leader is a key position within our mental health peer support program responsible for coordinating supervising and leading a team of Certified Peer Recovery Specialists (CPRS). The Peer Leader plays a crucial role in setting the direction for the team and ensuring the delivery of high-quality peer support services to participants.
This role is a unique opportunity for a motivated and compassionate individual to lead a team of peer recovery specialists in delivering meaningful recovery-oriented support to individuals facing mental health and substance use challenges. The peer leaderwill play a critical role in shaping our program fostering a supportive and empowering environment and making a real difference in the lives of our participants.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
- Team Management and Supervision: Supervise and manage the daily activities of the CPRS team. Provide regular feedback conduct performance reviews and identify areas for further training and development.
- Training and Mentorship: Provide training coaching and mentorship to CPRSs ensuring they are equipped with the knowledge and skills needed to deliver exceptional peer support services.
- Program Delivery and Improvement: Monitor program delivery to ensure it is in line with our goals objectives and standards. Continually identify opportunities for program improvement and implement changes as necessary.
- Participant Support: Oversee the provision of peer support services to participants ensuring they receive the help and support they need. This could involve leading group sessions providing one-on-one support and liaising with other mental health services.
- Community Engagement and Networking: Build and maintain strong relationships with community organizations mental health services and other stakeholders. Represent our program at meetings forums and events.
- Administrative Tasks: Handle administrative tasks such as reporting documentation and scheduling.
KNOWLEDGE SKILLS & ABILITIES
- Effectively communicate via written verbal in person and virtual methods.
- Deep understanding of the recovery process and the principles of peer support.
- Strong organizational and leadership abilities.
- Ability to handle sensitive issues with confidentiality and discretion.
- Demonstrated cultural competency and ability to work with diverse populations.
QUALIFICATIONS
Education Level
High school diploma or GED required
Years of Experience
Previous experience in a supervisory or leadership role in a peer support or similar mental health setting is preferred
Certification/Licensure
- Certification as a Peer Recovery Specialist is required
- Must have a valid drivers license and access to reliable transportation
