Job Summary

POSITION SUMMARY:

Saint James Health is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Pediatrician to provide comprehensive high-quality healthcare services to pediatric patients within our community-based healthcare setting. The Pediatrician will deliver preventive diagnostic and treatment services while supporting organizational quality initiatives and promoting continuity of care for patients and families.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Provide comprehensive pediatric primary care services using evidence-based and generally accepted standards of medical practice.
  • Perform complete patient evaluations including medical histories physical examinations diagnoses treatment planning and follow-up care.
  • Maintain accurate timely and complete medical documentation within the electronic medical record (EPIC).
  • Coordinate patient care services specialty referrals diagnostic testing and follow-up treatment plans.
  • Perform newborn examinations and routine pediatric medical procedures as appropriate.
  • Participate in regular on-call coverage as assigned.
  • Promote preventive healthcare and patient education including immunizations wellness visits and disease prevention initiatives.
  • Collaborate with physicians nurse practitioners nurses behavioral health providers and support staff to ensure coordinated patient care.
  • Provide supervision consultation and clinical support to mid-level providers as needed.
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives peer reviews chart audits and organizational performance improvement activities.
  • Assist in the development and implementation of clinical policies procedures and best practices.
  • Attend required staff meetings trainings in-services and organizational activities.
  • Participate in community outreach and health promotion events including health fairs and educational presentations as requested by leadership.
  • Support Saint James Healths mission of delivering accessible high-quality healthcare services to underserved populations.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned by the Chief Medical Officer.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Doctor of Medicine (M.D.) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (D.O.) from an accredited medical school required.
  • Board Certified or Board Eligible in Pediatrics required.
  • Active New Jersey medical license required.
  • Active CDS DEA and CPR/BLS certifications required.
  • Community health FQHC or family practice experience preferred.
  • Strong clinical communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced team-oriented healthcare environment.
  • Experience utilizing electronic medical records (EPIC preferred).
