Job Summary

Penobscot Pediatricsis seeking a Board Certified/Board Eligible Pediatrician to join our highly respected and well-established pediatric team in Bangor Maine.

This is an exceptional opportunity to practice comprehensive relationship-based pediatric medicine within a nationally recognized Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC) committed to integrated patient-centered care. This position is planned for full-time 40 hours per week.

Position Summary

The Pediatrician provides high-quality primary care services for infants children and adolescents within an integrated healthcare environment. Responsibilities include diagnosis treatment preventive care patient and family education chronic disease management and collaboration with multidisciplinary care teams to support the physical developmental and emotional health of pediatric patients.

Providers work closely with nurses behavioral health clinicians social workers therapists specialists and support staff to deliver coordinated compassionate care that improves patient outcomes and family satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide comprehensive outpatient pediatric care from birth through adolescence
  • Diagnose and treat acute and chronic pediatric conditions
  • Perform preventive health screenings well-child visits and developmental assessments
  • Administer and monitor immunizations in accordance with current guidelines
  • Collaborate with integrated behavioral health and specialty care teams
  • Educate patients and families regarding health nutrition disease prevention and treatment plans
  • Maintain accurate and timely electronic medical records documentation
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives and peer collaboration
  • Supervise and collaborate with advanced practice providers
  • Support medical student and healthcare learner education opportunities
  • Participate in community outreach and organizational initiatives
Qualifications
  • MD or DO from an accredited medical school
  • Board Certified or Board Eligible in Pediatrics
  • Eligible for medical licensure in the State of Maine
  • Valid DEA certification
  • Ability to obtain hospital privileges and participate with payer credentialing
  • Current or eligible Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
  • Commitment to patient-centered team-based pediatric care
