Job Summary

Pediatric Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) PICU

Location: Indianapolis IN
Pay Rate: $55/hr - $65/hr
Duration: 13 Weeks
Shift: Nights
Schedule: 3x12s (7:00 PM 7:00 AM)

Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) to provide advanced respiratory care within a Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU) setting. The ideal candidate will have pediatric critical care experience and be comfortable managing critically ill pediatric patients in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

  • Manage ventilator-dependent pediatric patients

  • Perform comprehensive respiratory assessments

  • Administer respiratory therapies and treatments

  • Monitor patient responses and adjust care plans as appropriate

  • Collaborate with physicians nurses and multidisciplinary healthcare teams

  • Respond to respiratory emergencies and critical situations

  • Maintain accurate patient documentation

  • Ensure compliance with hospital policies and patient safety standards

  • Provide family education and support regarding respiratory care

Requirements

  • Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) Credential

  • Indiana Respiratory Care License or Eligibility for Licensure

  • Pediatric Critical Care Experience Required

  • BLS Certification Required

  • Strong assessment critical thinking and communication skills

  • Ability to work effectively in a high-acuity PICU environment

Preferred

  • PALS Certification

  • Previous PICU experience

  • Experience with advanced pediatric ventilator management

  • Experience working in a childrens hospital setting
