This payroll clerk position is in Freeport TX. No Per Diem is offered. Work schedule is Monday thru Thursday from 6:30AM to 5:00PM. Overtime and weekend work as needed.
Responsibilities
Responsibilities
- Knowledge of payroll processes required.
- Distribute collect and review timesheets. Verify hours worked overtime and leave time.
- Update and maintain accurate employee records.
- Compile payroll summaries and other reports as requested.
- Strong familiarity with spreadsheet applications (e.g. Microsoft Excel) and payroll/accounting software.
- Develop and maintain positive working relationships with job site co-workers and project management.
- Accounts payable knowledge. For example matching of invoices receivers and purchase orders.
- Reply to assigned queries correctly efficiently and communicates in a timely manner.
- Complete special projects as required by manager.
- General office skills.
- Other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Must have high school diploma or equivalent
- Minimum of three years related payroll processing experience.
- Strict adherence to ethical standards when handling sensitive financial and personal employee data.
- Solid working knowledge of Excel and Microsoft office products
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Experience using general office equipment and computer programs
- Deadline driven
Qualifications
Preferred Qualifications
- Associate or bachelors degree in accounting Finance or related field.
- Minimum of three years related payroll processing experience.
- Advanced proficiency in MS Excel
- Adaptable and works well in a fast-paced environment
- Experience working in the chemical refining industry
